After feminist groups lashed out at Melissa Gorga’s memoir on marriage, Love Italian Style, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star took to Twitter to defend herself. And when E! News asked the mother of three if she regretted anything in her first book, she quickly put any questions to rest.

“I stand by what I said,” she told the site. “I truly believe in everything I said in it.”

Melissa’s referred to some of her family’s practices as being more “traditional,” saying she does most of the household chores and feels pressure to look good for her man.

She also says that she and Joe have to have sex a minimum of three times a week, even resorting to “maintenance sex” when the passion isn’t quite there.

“There’s real passionate sex and maintenance sex,” she writes in the book. “You need them both for a healthy marriage. Maintenance sex keeps the wheels greased, the line of communication open, and the fights to a minimum.”

Many have taken offense with Melissa’s views on marriage, with the site Jezebel even saying the reality star advocates “marital rape.”

Do you think Melissa’s out of line for writing about these topics or should her views on marriage be respected? Tell us your thoughts below!
