UPDATE: In Touch has just released a new report that backs up this original report. The site names twins Nicole and Teresa Napolitano, as well as their friend, Amber Marchese, as The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6's three new cast members. It's not full confirmation, but it seems pretty near close.
But while the original report calls Jacqueline Laurita's departure a sure thing, In Touch keeps it a bit more vague. Instead of confirming that Jac is out, the only says that Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice are back for sure, which Kathy Wakile's role has been reduced. The implication of a Jacqueline-free Season 6 is there, but it's not stated explicitly.
Original story: Fresh off Caroline Manzo’s big reveal that she won’t be returning for Season 6 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, we’re hearing that a whole slew of other casting changes are in store. An exclusive report from All About The Real Housewives says that Caroline is only one of two Jersey Housewives headed off the show for good, and that three brand new cast members are being added to replace them.
Rumors have long been ramped that Caroline’s sister, Dina Manzo, is returning as a full time cast member, and that her onetime nemesis Jacqueline Laurita will be leaving the show. Sources tellAllAboutTRH that both reports are true. AllAboutTRH also reports that the less drama-inclined Kathy Wakile will only be returning in a limited capacity. Instead of being a full-time cast member, her role will be reduced to that of a friend of the housewives.
“Bravo believes Kathy no longer had what it took to be an official housewife anymore,” an unnamed source tells the site. (By which we assume they mean she didn’t stir up enough drama to keep things interesting.) However, the source adds that Kathy’s sister, Rosie, ended up being her saving grace, saying that the show “decided to keep Kathy as a friend of the housewives because many people enjoy her sister Rosie.”
So how about those reported three new housewives? AllAboutTRH names twin sisters Nicole and Teresa Napolitano as the newest faces added to the franchise. In addition, “Nicole and Teresa’s good friend, Amber” is also said to have been added to the cast, though the site doesn’t list a last name for this final new Housewife.
In addition, the site Faux Reality Entertainment has a bit more information about Nicole and Teresa (so, if the reports are true, are we going by Teresa G. and Teresa N. now? Or will one of them have to start using a nickname?) The twins are both in their 40s and hail from Colts Neck, New Jersey. The site says that both Teresa and her husband are “well known in New Jersey’s philanthropic circles,” while Nicole owns a dairy queen and is “extremely successful.”
