More than any christening or upstate retreat, the annual Posche fashion show — thrown by Posche boutique owner Kim DePaola — has been the setting for some of the biggest throwdowns the Real Housewives of New Jersey has ever seen. Who could forget the infamous pulling of Danielle Staub’s weave in a fight that broke out one year, or the shocking accusations about Melissa Gorga being a stripper in another?
So when we heard 2013’s show was just held this past Wednesday, Oct. 23, we went straight to the source (a.k.a. Kim D.) to find out what went down.
In perhaps the biggest shocker in Posche fashion show history, Kim exclusively tells Wetpaint Entertainment that everything went off without a hitch.
“We held it at the Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey,” Kim says. “It happens to be the same place they filmed the last reunion, but I had booked my event way in advance.”
And because RHONJ currently isn’t filming, Kim, who’s also getting set to launch her own perfume, wasn’t under any pressure to invite the whole cast. “In a million years I would never invite Caroline,” Kim explains. “I can’t stand her. Kathy and I are not friends. Melissa and Joe were invited but couldn’t make it and neither could Jacqueline, who was in California. I’m sure once we start filming, Dina [Manzo] and I will be friends, but right now we don’t know each other very well, so I didn’t invite her. As everyone knows, I’m no phony.”
Instead, her close pal Teresa Giudice and husband Joe were the only cast members in attendance. “They were celebrating their anniversary that night,” Kim continues. “Everyone was so excited to see them.”
The only problem? Teresa and Joe were mobbed by fans eager to take pictures.
“They were swarmed,” Kim confirms. “They could barely eat or go to the bathroom — they constantly had people coming up them. Next year, she’s going to need to be sectioned off in her own little area. It was insane.”
Expect even more insanity at the next Posche fashion show, set to go down in March, when Bravo’s cameras WILL most likely be there to capture the action.
What are the chances for two drama-free fashion shows in a row? We’re going to go ahead and say slim to none. Guess we’ll just have to watch what happens!
