The countdown is on until we find out what the future holds for Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe. The couple were charged with 41 counts of financial fraud and could serve as long as 50 years in prison. Both will face a judge on February 24, 2014, who will determine what their fate will be.

Kathy Wakile, for one, is hoping that the outcome doesn't include jail time. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star recently spoke with E! Online during the American Music Awards, where she shared her thoughts on her cousin's situation.

When the E! reporter brought up the fact that the Giudice's could end up going to the slammer — or just "going away," as they like to say on the Jersey franchise — Kathy was quick to divulge her strong feelings on the topic.

"I hope not," Kathy responded. "I really do hope not. There are the children. I hope they get this under wraps as soon as possible."

Additionally, Kathy revealed that she had no idea that there was even a possibility of Joe and Teresa finding themselves in this type of situation. According to her, the Jersey ladies don't discuss money matters at all.

"We don't really get into each other's business like that," Kathy told E!, adding, "It's not like that. Nobody talks about anybody else's checkbook."

We're glad to hear that Kathy doesn't want Teresa to end up doing time… after all, they are family.
