Actress Jennifer Lawrence is getting a ton of awards buzz for her role in the soon-to-be-released film American Hustle. But did she actually get inspiration for her character from watching Real Housewives of New Jersey?
Jennifer — who earned a Golden Globe nomination this morning for her role as the wife of a con man in the film, which also stars Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Christian Bale — is asked by MTV News whether she's really a fan of RHoNJ.
At first, she pretends to not be, joking, "That's not where I got my accent [for American Hustle]."
Wait, did she really get her accent by watching Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Caroline Manzo, and the whole gang? "I can't tell where it came from because I just kind of started speaking in it, and I know that I've been watching a lot of reality TV shows, and a lot of those reality TV shows have a lot of New Jersey women, so I can't say that it's not from them," Jennifer reveals.
However, she is a little ashamed to have gotten inspiration from this show. "I wish I could [say that my accent isn't from RHoNJ] — I really wish I could," the Hunger Games star jokes.
Do you believe Jennifer that she got her accent by watching RHoNJ?
