The View host Jenny McCarthy is outspoken about her son Evan's autism; she's well known for writing several books on the subject, and for being an outspoken advocate against vaccines, which she claims cause autism. Recently, reports surfaced that Jenny supposedly claimed that Evan didn't have autism after all. In the midst of the drama, Jacqueline Laurita of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is standing by Jenny's side.

Like Jenny, Jacqueline has been dealing with her son's disorder ever since Nicholas was diagnosed a few years ago. And, also like Jenny, Jacqueline has made it her mission to spread awareness about autism by becoming a public speaker about her personal experience.

In the wake of the rumors, Jacqueline took to Twitter to re-tweet Jenny's tweet that confirms Evan was diagnosed with autism, and to remind her followers to give Jenny props for all of the work she has done.

"Let's not forget that @JennyMcCarthy has been a very proactive mom & took time 2 help many by raising Autism awareness & writing books 2 help others," Jacqueline wrote.

As it turns out, the rumors about Jenny were just that: rumors. The bubbly blonde took to her own Twitter on January 3 to set the record straight, writing, "Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all, are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous. Evan was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center). The implication that I have changed my position, that my child was not initially diagnosed with autism (and instead may suffer from Landau-Kleffner Syndrome), is both irresponsible and inaccurate."

The mama went on to explain, "These stories cite a 'new' Time Magazine interview with me, which was actually published in 2010, that never contained any such statements by me. Continued misrepresentations, such as these, only serve to open wounds of the many families who are courageously dealing with this disorder. Please know that I am taking every legal measure necessary to set this straight."
