We always knew Caroline Manzo's son, Albie, was a standup guy! The Real Housewives of New Jersey offspring recently took to Twitter to show his support for Michael Sam, a football player who recently came out right before the big NFL draft. Michael Sam is posed to be the first-ever openly gay man playing in the NFL, a huge accomplishment for the LGBT community.
"I'm not afraid of who I am. I'm not afraid to tell the world of who I am. I'm Michael Sam, I'm a college graduate, I'm African-American, and I'm gay," the NFL hopeful told the cameras, plain and simple.
By praising Michael's actions, Albie is setting a great example himself. "Awesome to see Michael Sam come out, extremely brave of him!" Albie wrote.
Unfortunately, Michael Sam has gotten mixed reactions from the public since making his announcement, but we're hoping the good wins out in this battle and that other talented athletes will be inspired to follow his lead instead of hiding who they really are.
Of course, we're not super surprised to see Albie supporting the gay community, considering that one of his best friends and former roommate, Greg Bennett, is also a proud gay man. Greg has been around on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for multiple seasons and Caroline considers him one of the family.
