Lauren got engaged to longtime boyfriend Vito Scalia back in November, and last week’s celebration was held at her family’s Brownstone restaurant. Her mom, Caroline Manzo, was there, of course, plus her father Albert; brothers Albie and Chris; Jacqueline and Chris Laurita; Melissa and Joe Gorga, and Kathy and Rich Wakile.
Where was Teresa? On April 6, a viewer tweeted to Lauren, “u couldn't invite Teresa that's soooo wrong.” Lauren replied, “would u invite someone u haven’t spoken to in way over a year and have absolutely no relationship with to a party of yours?” Fair point.
There's some history between Lauren and Teresa, although last we heard, they got along fine.
Last October, Bravo aired part two of the Real Housewives of New Jersey's lost footage, showing Lauren celebrate the one-year anniversary of her business. Teresa was at the event, which confused some viewers since the women had been shown feuding. Lauren had said Teresa's children were raised by a pack of wolves, and Teresa didn't approve of Lauren's lap-band surgery.
AllAboutTRH asked Lauren why Teresa was at that business event, and Lauren said, “Teresa and I made up on camera and they didn’t air it. We both apologized for what we have said. We get along fine now.”
But “fine” doesn’t necessarily mean close enough for Lauren’s engagement party. Besides, as another viewer tweeted to Lauren in response to the Teresa question, “you are very right! Invite who you want it's your day!!”
Teresa and Joe Giudice pleaded guilty to several fraud charges on March 4, so it’s also possible Lauren wanted to keep her happy occasion away from any potential drama. RHoNJ Season 6 has completed filming at this point and we’ll see the results … eventually. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but Teresa’s legal woes will be featured.
Are you surprised that Teresa wasn’t invited to Lauren’s engagement party or does that choice make sense to you?
