Let's start with the good news: More people tuned into the 8 p.m. showing of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 for this week's Episode 7 than they did for last week's Episode 6. Here's the bad news: it still brought in under 2 million viewers.

Last week, about 1.7 million people tuned in. This week, TV By the Numbers reports that the viewership was up to 1.84 million. Up is better than down, but that's still not a very high number compared to what the show has done in the past.

Want a comparison? The seventh episode of Season 5 had 2.7 million viewers, almost a million more than this week. Overall, the average ratings for Season 5 was 2.28 million viewers, while this season the show has only hit the 2 million and over mark twice (first for the premiere, second in the wake of the First Responders fight).

Why the decline in ratings? Are fans just not liking the new girls? If the rumors about Jacqueline Laurita are true, then it sounds like the Powers That Be think a return to the OG H'wives might help things.
