Viewers were shocked when Dina Manzo chose to leave The Real Housewives of New Jersey after two seasons. Many speculated that a feud with one or more of the housewives was to blame for her sudden departure, but Dina claims that’s not the case.
Dina was back in front of Bravo cameras during Sunday's epsiode, and while she wasn't getting along with her sister Caroline, she had no problem with Teresa Giudice.
It's still unclear exactly why the Manzo gals are fighting, but a few months ago Tre tweeted one of Dina’s blog entries from October 2011, in which Dina talks about why she left RHoNJ and why she is feuding with Caroline.
According to Dina, she began distancing herself from the housewives (Teresa included) before she even left the show to focus more on her charity, Project Ladybug, which aids children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Once she made the choice to leave RHoNJ, Dina says she “felt a sense of peace.”
As for her feud with Caroline, Dina would only reveal, “During this time some things that I will NOT get into did happen behind the scenes with certain family members and there is no right or wrong really…it depends on who you ask. Feelings did get hurt…I won’t get into them because I have no desire to rehash the past that can only hurt my parents whom I adore.”
Yet Dina also insists that despite her family drama, she comforted Teresa when she reached out to her because the two were friends. “It wasn’t until VERY recently that Teresa showed up at my doorstep in tears…apparently Caroline & Jacqueline had a sit down with her on camera (for season 4) and she felt attacked. All I did was console a friend who was obviously shaken,” Dina writes.
Ultimately, Dina insists that Teresa had nothing to do with her current family dynamic or her choice to leave RHoNJ. “Teresa had nothing to do with me staying away from everyone, I even stayed away from her too and I have no clue about all the drama that went on with everything else,” she concludes.
Hopefully that should put the Dina and Teresa feud rumors to rest once and for all!
