There has been a lot of speculation about Teresa Giudice’s relationships with her Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars, and Season 4 is expected to be even more dramatic and draining than ever before, but Teresa’s cousin, Kathy Wakile, insists that her relationship with the table flipper is “cordial.”

Kathy recently spoke with The Huffington Post about RHoNJ, and she was able to shed a little more light on what viewers can expect this season and reflected on the various relationships within her family.

Kathy, who was once very close to Teresa, offers the following explanation for why their relationship is now strained: “I think she felt there was a divide between she and I because I had become closer to Melissa and Joe [Gorga]. But I'm pretty capable of sustaining more than one relationship at a time,” she said.

“She [Teresa] took it as if I was choosing a side, but it's one family — it's not two separate sides, it's one family. And that was my goal, all season … to bring the family back together.”

As for the current state of her relationship with Teresa, Kathy states, “My relationship with Teresa is cordial … But if I see her, I'm cordial with her; I'm happy to see her. I always wish the best for her so I hope that that can keep rolling.”

Even though viewers have only seen one episode of Season 4 so far, Kathy maintains that this season is “very eye-opening.”

“It peels back some layers,” she continues. “You can clearly see we're not just a bunch of ladies that have been thrown together. We have a connection.”

Let’s hope their connections survive the turbulent seasons ahead!
