Filming for Season 5 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey took a nasty and violent turn on March 30, 2013, when Real Househusbands Chris Laurita and Joe Gorga got into a serious physical altercation with Johnny Karagiorgis at Posche 2, the second outpost of Kim D.’s popular New Jersey boutique.

Johnny is married to Penny Drossos, and even though Penny isn’t an NJ Housewife the Greek gal does have an extensive history with the RHoNJ ladies, and was a major source of drama in Season 5, even accusing Teresa Giudice of spreading rumors about Melissa Gorga. Her salon, La Chateau Allure, was the setting for Kim D. and Teresa Giudice’s pre-strippergate sit down last season, and she is reportedly friends with Kim D. She has also been photographed with Teresa Giudice in the past.

Teresa, Melissa Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita, and Caroline Manzo were all filming at Posche 2 and the upstairs Moxie twins beauty salon on March 30 to celebrate the grand opening of the store, and an eyewitness tells Wetpaint Entertainment that it didn’t take long before shit went down and punches were thrown.

While we don’t know exactly how the altercation began, our source tells us that Joe Gorga and Chris Laurita went after Johnny. Joe was apparently angry because he was under the impression that Johnny was setting Melissa up by bringing her ex-boyfriend, Bryan Bulldog Bowen, into the mix, and Bulldog’s numerous tweets to both Penny and Johnny would suggest that they all know each other. As we told you several weeks ago, Bulldog has been claiming that Mel slept with him after she married Joe, so it’s easy to understand why Joe would dislike him.

Chris Laurita, on the other hand, was irate because Johnny allegedly said something insulting about the Laurita’s 3-year-old autistic son, Nicholas.

The wives stayed out of the brawl for the most part— mama Manzo was overheard telling the show’s producers that she was very worried for Jacqueline’s safety — but Chris, Joe, and Albie Manzo were out for blood — literally.

Even though the whole fight only lasted for a few minutes, by the time it was all over the salon was completely trashed (we’re talking sinks ripped from the wall and broken glass everywhere) and Johnny was bleeding and badly bruised.

Yikes! Are you surprised that the fight was so intense?
