On Season 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City, loyalties were firmly divided in the sand. On one side: Ramona Singer and best friend Sonja Morgan. On the other: newcomers Aviva Drescher, Heather Thomson, and Carole Radziwill. And somewhere in between hovered LuAnn de Lesseps, who seemed to bristle with both sides on a regular basis.

While chatting with Wetpaint Entertainment at former cast mate Jill Zarin's Luxury Ladies' Luncheon on July 13, however, LuAnn teased that viewers expecting the same-old-same-old will be in for a surprise.

Wetpaint Entertainment: First things first. How's your summer going?
LuAnn de Lesseps: Really well. We're filming. I have two teenagers out of school and a boyfriend. So life is good but busy.

Tell us how filming is going.
It's actually been really good. You know, this season, I'm friendly with people I never thought I'd be friendly with. There are a lot of changes in alliances.

Should we assume that that means you and Ramona are on better terms?
Well, I can't give that away!

And how is newcomer Kristen Taekman fitting in?
Well, she's tall and she's beautiful, so I would say she fits in pretty well!

Last question: What can we expect from Season 6 that maybe we haven’t before?
You know, each year I say, what are we going to do this year that we haven't done before? And each year, something different happens. You have new women, you have a new dynamic, new places everyone wants to go, and new places we have access to. It's going to be a great season.
