Looks like the sixth season of the Real Housewives of New York will be working with a little less class and elegance this time around. We’re sorry, dears, but your beloved Countess LuAnn de Lesseps has just announced that she’ll no longer be a full-time member of the Bravo reality show’s cast.

According to the grande dame of Manhattan, she’ll be missing from the first three episodes of the new season, as she had yet to sign her contract with Bravo at the start of filming. She will, however, appear after that — though this time in a recurring role (aka “friend of the Housewives”).

"The show has been a part of my life for so long," LuAnn tells E! News. "I just made the decision to step back so I can spend more time doing my things with business and my family … It's a win-win for me. I'm still on the show. I'm still very much a part of the show, but it's not a fulltime thing. It's very engulfing when you're on it. It takes up all of your mental and physical energy."

We can only imagine! That Scary Island episode definitely added a few gray hairs to our heads.. and we were watching from the comfort of our couch. But just because the Countess won’t be an official Housewife, don’t think she’s not going to be wrapped up in the cattiness this time around.

"How can I avoid the drama? The drama is unavoidable. So yes, I'm a part of the drama — absolutely!"

One person who will be on-screen full-time is new cast member Kristen Taekman, the model pal of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Brandi Glanville. And as one of the OGs from Season 1 of RHoNY, LuAnn has some advice for the newbie:

"Keep your head down. My advice really to her is just to be yourself and listen to your inner voice and listen to what is natural to you. Sometimes you get caught up and you forget about being true to yourself."

Well put! Though we doubt that someone who’s friends with Brandi will have any trouble holding her own against these outspoken gals.
