There are a few cardinal rules of getting along in the Real Housewives world: don’t talk about your co-stars’ kids, husbands, plastic surgery, or book deals.

Unfortunately for Real Housewives of New York cast member Carole Radziwill, it seems that her co-star, Aviva Drescher, didn’t get the memo.

On Tuesday’s episode of RHONY, the two castmates had a tense face-off over Aviva’s claims that Carole’s hit memoir, What Remains, wasn’t exactly written by her.

While such an accusation would likely make any sane person more than frustrated, Aviva’s comments hit a particular nerve with Carole, whose book deals with the loss of her husband, Anthony, from cancer.

"Is she insinuating I hired a ghostwriter to write my first book?" asked a shocked Carole, who had tried to help Aviva understand her writing process over lunch. "That's awkward and awful."

Following the tense confrontation between the two, Aviva continued to perpetuate her theory about Carole’s book, telling her other co-stars, "Carole shopped her novel at my publishing house, and they passed … They said it needed to be completely overhauled … I heard her first book had a ghostwriter.”

Ouch!

Do you think Aviva crossed the line by implying that Carole had a ghostwriter for her book?
