Aye aye aye. Aviva Drescher might’ve referred to herself as a “jerk” for her behavior on the Real Housewives of New York Season 5 St. Barts trip, but former RHONY star Alex McCord has much more colorful terminology to describe her.
In her latest RumorFix vlog, Alex declared that the way Aviva handled the brush-off she and hubby Reid received from Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan made her seem like “a screaming, smug, self-satisfied harridan.”
“I just couldn't believe what was coming out of her mouth,” Alex declared.
Alex also thought that the big blow-out Aviva and Sonja had in the kitchen on Season 5, Episode 15: “Vacation, All I Never Wanted” might’ve been a case of miscommunication, with Sonja actually trying to help Aviva.
During the episode, Aviva and Sonja quibbled over the fact that the trip was being declared “girls only” by those who didn’t think Aviva’s hubby belonged there, with Aviva pointing out the number of men the others had brought around the house. “At 40-plus years, I think it’s a little immature,” she said.
Alex thinks there was more to the conversation between Sonja and Aviva than Aviva picked up on.
“I think that [Sonja] was breaking the fourth wall here and trying to tell Aviva how to bring it for the cameras,” she explained. “Now, typically, Sonja is very fun to watch on TV. She is a clown; she slips on a banana peel. She's not afraid to be a doofus ... Perhaps what she was trying to tell Aviva is that people are not going to enjoy her being a screaming harridan. I certainly did not.”
Sage wisdom from the former RHONY star, or a case of 20/20 hindsight?
