Bethenny Frankel, like so many others, has been personally affected by the havoc Hurricane Sandy’s landfall caused the northeast this week, particularly with the power and transportation issues in New York City. She even had to celebrate her birthday while stranded at Newark Airport. The former Real Houswives of New York star has not, however, forgotten about the struggles of others affected by the storm and has now stepped forth with a mighty generous donation to Sandy relief efforts.

According to Us Weekly, Bethenny donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross because she “is an East Coast girl and hopes the stream of donations from people all over America and the world will reach those affected, save more lives and help build back the East Coast.”

“It is so important in times like this that we come together and help in any way we can,” a source continued about her generosity.

Bethenny’s company, Skinnygirl Cocktails, matched the $50,000 donation, and $10,000 worth of her Skinnygirl Daily On-the-Go Bars were also donated to the New Jersey Red Cross for distribution

Nice to see her use what resources she has to help, right? Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. Attagirl, Bethenny!
