Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel first announced her unfortunate miscarriage on Today in February, but in the newest Glamour magazine, she opens up with more sad details than ever before.

Bethenny discovered she was pregnant with her second child at age 41, but almost immediately, she knew this pregnancy was different from her first. She tells Glamour, "I was still bleeding, and I was nauseated and uncomfortable — 'way worse than last time,' I said to [husband] Jason. I felt seven months pregnant even though I was six weeks along. And because we hadn’t planned this, I felt unprepared, like we had so much to do to get ready for this baby. Still, I was excited, if cautiously so, with the words high risk ringing in my ears."

Bethenny says that, when she suffered a miscarriage approximately six weeks into the pregnancy, she couldn’t help turning her frustration inward. “I blamed myself — of course I did.”

As if the experience wasn’t traumatic enough, Bethenny says that, 10 days after her miscarriage, the doctor informed her that her baby would have been a girl. "He told me that the tests came back as 'female fetus, normal.' He was reading off a chart, reassuring me that there wasn't some chromosomal abnormality. But all I heard was 'female,' and I fell to pieces."

Painfully, she remembers, “I was picturing Bryn with a little sister … Two little girls in rain boots."
