Bethenny Frankel may be long gone from the The Real Housewives of New York franchise, but she still has a hand in shaping the show — at least if you ask her!

"I cast Aviva [Drescher]," Bethenny told the New York Daily News. "I’m the reason she’s on the show.”

Bethenny apparently knew Aviva through a friend, and recommended her to the show "a couple of years ago." Obviously it didn't work out at the time, but recently Bethenny encouraged Bravo bigwig Andy Cohen to look over Aviva's old tape again. "I said, ‘Go back and find the tape of that woman. I think she would probably be a good housewife.’ So here we are.”

Aviva's backstory is definitely compelling, so we give props to Bethenny. Maybe if her new talk show doesn't work out, she can go into reality TV producing instead.
