LuAnn de Lesseps's St. Barts "cheating" scandal has been overshadowed by all the Aviva Drescher vs. Ramona Singer drama on the last few episodes of The Real Housewives of New York Season 5. However, it's hard to forget hottie Tomas Ribeiro and the hubbub he caused by dropping LuAnn off at home late at night — an event she then lied about.
So when we had a chance to chat with LuAnn at the OK! Magazine’s 4th Annual Fashion Week Celebration on September 10, we had to ask her if she regrets her lie — and what she thinks of Aviva vs. Ramona, of course!
Wetpaint Entertainment: Obviously, there was a ton of drama around Aviva, Ramona, and Sonja on the St. Barts trip. Whose side are you on?
You know what? I really get along with all the girls, so I'm not one to really pick sides. God knows I've had them on my bad side. But you'll never really see me raise my voice or get really angry with anybody. It's really me trying to dodge the bullets. So there's more dodging going on, and more drama.
On [Season 5, Episode 15: “Vacation, All I Never Wanted”] it's really not about me, for once. But, I must say, it's pretty interesting that when you turn around, that everyone's talking about you! Says a lot, doesn't it?
Do you have any regrets about telling the "white lie" about Tomas coming over?
Oh, totally! I mean, I made a mistake. And I admit I made a mistake, and it was really hard for me to relive that whole thing again. The mistake was, once you tell a white lie, you have to continue telling the white lie, and it's very hard to remember the lie [laughs]. Obviously, you know, if I were going to have an affair, I don't think I'd bring him back to the house with the Housewives and the cameras! I was having fun. I had a great time, and got a ride home, and it spiraled out of control.
The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
