Of all the hurtful rumors to start about the stars of Real Housewives of New York, this one might take the cake.

Earlier today, a Twitter user tweeted at Heather Thomson, Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill, Ramona Singer, and @RHO_Tweets, a popular fan Twitter account, to ask if Heather’s son Jax had died.

OMG!! We must trend #RIPJax!! @iamHeatherT When did Heather's son, Jax, #die,” the person tweeted.

If the combination of trying to get something to “trend” on Twitter and the use of a hashtag on a child’s death wasn’t enough of an indication that the tweet is fishy, you should know that the rumor is completely, utterly false.

Heather responded to the question swiftly, explaining that her son Jax, who has Biliary Atresia, is “alive and well.” Aviva responded to the original tweeter to say that the rumor was “not cool.”

It isn’t clear how or why this rumor was started, and the original tweeter appears to be the only person to be talking about the death hoax. The tweeter responded to Heather and Aviva’s comments by saying that you “shouldn’t trust the internet,” which suggests that they may have read the rumor somewhere else. Then again, they might be trying to cover up their involvement in the hoax. Who knows.

Either way, Heather’s adorable son Jax is doing well, and that is all that really matters.

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
