Heather Thomson and LuAnn de Lesseps got into a teensy bit of a tussle on the Real Housewives of New York Season 5 Reunion Part 1 episode when the subject of Carole Radziwill’s confessional comments came up.
Essentially, host Andy Cohen was trying to determine why Carole was so calm to LuAnn’s face but had some serious criticisms for her during the confessional portions of the show (particularly about the dress incident). LuAnn, with ire about the situation, turned her attention to Heather and said she was surprised Heather wouldn’t stand up for her on the issue. Heather snapped back that she defends LuAnn all the time. “When don’t I defend you, LuAnn?” she shouted. “When have I ever said anything negative or derogatory about you ever?”
The conversation quickly shifted back to Carole, but since things have generally been fine between LuAnn and Heather, the moment of tension came as a surprise. Fortunately, Heather took to her latest Bravo blog to clear the air on her relationship with LuAnn.
According to Heather, she and LuAnn are still close pals, but she thinks LuAnn can’t take criticism very well.
“Lu is a lot of fun, she is beautiful inside and out, we spent a good deal of time off-camera with our guys, and Jon and I grew very fond of her and Jacques,” she wrote. “Although the closeness remains, my frustration with LuAnn came to a head on the reunion as I continually encountered her inability to receive constructive criticism or even try to learn from others' feedback. If LuAnn doesn’t like something that someone has said about her, then in her mind, it isn’t true.”
Heather continued, “I so desperately want LuAnn to be more open and accepting of others' thoughts and feelings because, ultimately, it will make her an even better person.”
Do you agree that LuAnn can't take criticism, or is Heather off base?
The Real Housewives of New York Season 5 Reunion: Part 2 airs on Monday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
