Real Housewives Star Sonja Morgan Reveals That She Suffered a Miscarriage
Sonja Morgan may be all bubbles and laughs when she’s on Real Housewives of New York but that doesn’t mean that she has had some dark moments in her past.
On this week’s episode of the Bravo series, the ex-wife of John Adams Morgan revealed that she suffered a miscarriage during the later years of her marriage.
LuAnn de Lesseps had invited Sonja to lunch to discuss her plans to have a baby with her boyfriend Jacques. However, Sonja was cautious about LuAnn’s news, explaining that women in their 40s (LuAnn is 47) have a hard time getting pregnant.
“Sometimes it doesn’t always stick,” Sonja said. “I had my daughter in my late 30s and towards the end of my marriage I miscarried … my little boy. In my early fourth month. Heartbeat and everything but it just didn’t stick. It was sad.”
“I felt bad for Sonja when she told me that she had miscarried because I know she likes being a mom,” LuAnn said after Sonja’s confession.
Sonja’s divorce from John was finalized in 2008, when she was 45. That means that she could have miscarried in her early to mid 40s.
While Sonja was still wary about LuAnn having a baby, she did note that “women do have babies in their 40s.”
