The most recent ratings news for Real Housewives of New York is … not great, but according to the New York Daily News, Bravo exec Andy Cohen is missing out on all the bad news.

NYDN reports that Andy’s “so busy with his burgeoning career that he’s distanced himself from the show.”

Well, he is an author in his own right at this point — his Most Talkative book was published in May — but still!

The report continues, saying Andy “’doesn’t care if the ratings for this season tank’ and has ‘backed away from the show’ … ‘This is the first season he’s not editing. He’s busy with other projects and doesn’t have time to go over hours of film.’”

Whether he’s actually editing footage or not, we have a very hard time believing he’s content to sit back and just watch as the ratings dip on RHONY. We know how dear the Housewives franchises are to Andy’s heart, and to his network.

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
