On the Real Housewives of New York Season 5 premiere (Season 5, Episode 1: “A New New York”), one of the new castmates quickly got into a dramatic showdown with one of the originals. We’re talking about the instant clash between Heather Thomson and Ramona Singer.

In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Heather spoke up about the disagreement while attending the RHONY Season 5 screening party at Serafina restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on June 4. Read her side of the story below, and click here to read Ramona’s take on the argument.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Did you and Ramona continue to butt heads throughout Season 5?
Heather Thomson: Ramona and I are co-stars on an ensemble cast. I don’t even like to say “co-star” because I think it’s weird, but we’re castmates on an ensemble cast. And so whatever my personal opinions may be about Ramona, I don’t pass judgment on her. She’s someone I work with and someone I’m on a reality show with, and I think you gotta find the good in everybody. And although I may not agree with all the things Ramona does and says, I try to find the good in that and I’m here to support the launch of our season together.

What were your first impressions of the other Housewives?
They were actually very organic, like my first impressions kind of stuck. My first impression of Ramona was shell-shocked. My first impression of LuAnn [de Lesseps] was adore, I adore her. Carole [Radziwill] and I were like instant friends, we met a little bit before we started filming. Sonja [Morgan], I just wanted to support and lift up. Aviva [Drescher] is just a very strong, powerful woman who kind of is this tall beauty who’s rock solid inside.
