If you’re watching Ramona Singer on The Real Housewives of New York, it’s only a matter of time before you hear the words “Turtle Time.” But what does Turtle Time actually mean? Don’t worry, Wetpaint Entertainment is here to explain the classic Housewives catchphrase to you.

“Turtle Time,” was a phrase that Ramona said during RHONY Season 3 when the gals took a trip down to “Scary Island,” aka St. John island. The phrase came up after a boat party, when a Pinot-enjoying Ramona wanted to keep the celebrations going at a nearby bar called Fat Turtle. Swiveling her glass of Pinot and saying “turtle time” was simply Ramona’s way of letting everyone know that they should head to Fat Turtle.

However, over the past couple of seasons, “Turtle Time” has taken on a less specific meaning. Ramona has defined the larger concept of Turtle Time on her BravoTV.com blog, saying that it means “cutting loose, having some Pinot Grigio and even dancing.” Sounds fun to us!

Of course, not everyone enjoys Turtle Time. Back in Season 4, then-Housewife Kelly told the cameras that she wants to keep Ramona away from her kids because they “don’t need to see Turtle Time.”

Regardless, we think that Turtle Time is a fun, adults-only phrase that perfectly sums up how we feel after a glass or two of Pinot. Bring on Turtle Time!
