We are just four short days away from the premiere of VH1’s Mob Wives: New Blood, the show’s long-awaited fourth season, and we can hardly contain our excitement. So when new cast member Alicia DiMichele Garofalo recently made headlines for pleading guilty to embezzlement, we had to find out more about this controversial and self-professed “feisty” Philly lady.

While Alicia is representing the City of Brotherly Love — along with fellow newbie and friend Natalie Guercio — this gal is actually a New Jersey native, so it’s no surprise she gets along with the OG cast members. However, she seems to have picked up at least one value from her new hometown: family. The mother of three is very outspoken that family always comes first.

This probably hasn’t always been easy, though, as her husband of 13 years, Edward “The Tall Guy” Garofalo, is currently serving time for embezzlement and fraud related to a trucking company that the two ran together. The hearing for Alicia’s involvement in these crimes has been postponed until January 6. And while Alicia’s legal issues have put her name in the press, she wants viewers to focus on her positives.

“I don’t want people to view me as what they see or hear about me in the newspapers or media because I’m so not that person,” she says. “I’m just a regular mom, a great friend, just someone who adores their family.”

Alicia is also a business owner, with two clothing boutiques in her home state. And while the rest of the Mob Wives cast members may be known for their tempers, Alicia maintains that she’s mostly happy — until you piss her off. As she says in her intro video, “My friends would describe me as someone fun and fierce and always has a smile on her face and always is positive. But at the same time, you don’t want to cross me because I’m someone you don’t want to mess with.”

Keeping with that theme of positivity, Alicia also states that she loves all of the other women, and doesn’t play favorites:

“Ang always has a smile on her face, whenever I see her she just truly makes me happy. I love Drita because she’s the realest; what you see is what you get. And Natalie is just a sexy little vixen, I love her to pieces. And Renee is ... Renee.”

Hm, It sounds like there might be a little tension hinted at there with Renee. We’ll have to tune into the new season this Thursday, December 5 at 10 p.m. ET on VH1 to find out!
