It’s a sad day for fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Logo network reality show’s resident couple, Sharon Needles and Alaska, have officially split. Say it isn’t so!

The twosome shared the news of the dissolution of their four year relationship via press release, and though we’re bummed to see this coupling end, their upbeat and playful approach to the announcement cheers us up a little.

"The survival of our partnership relies on simply changing the word 'boy' in boyfriend to 'best,'" Sharon says. "And because of my severe vanity, I'd like to keep my social media as a place dedicated to my art, and not a place to talk about my personal life."

Sharon (real name Aaron Coady) emphasized the good terms on which this romantic relationship ended, quipping that they’d like "to clarify their intentions to admirers who may question the reason behind this mutual decision not to continue their relationship." The Season 4 Drag Race winner also adds: "I will treasure the four years we had together."

Meanwhile, Alaska (aka Justin Andrew Honard), who was runner up on the fifth season, shares, "I will always love Sharon and we will continue to be a part of each other's lives.”

So nice to see a show biz couple end things so amicably! Not everyone can handle being friends with an ex, so good on them for having the maturity to do so.
