It’s almost time for a brand new season of Couples Therapy. Season 4 premieres January 2, 2014, with a new crop of “celebrities” seeking the expertise of relationship expert Dr. Jenn Berman. So who’s on the good doctor’s couch this year and for what reasons?
Farrah Abraham: Once best known for appearing on 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, Farrah made a big splash in 2013 when she appeared in an, ahem, adult film with porn star James Deen. Though she’s currently seeing DJ Brian Dawe (uh... maybe), Farrah is coming to Dr. Jenn on her own for treatment of abandonment issues and help developing healthier relationships with men.
Taylor Armstrong and John Bluher: We were pretty surprised to see Taylor on the list of stars seeking treatment, given that she and her fiancé John Bluher are recently engaged and reportedly very happy. Well, it sounds like the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her beau are in therapy to ensure they stay happy. Taylor has a dark relationship past with patterns she’s hoping not to repeat. Shortly after she filed for divorce from her first husband, Russell, he took his own life. She later cited verbal and physical abuse on his part as reasons for her decision to leave.
Jon Gosselin and Liz Jannetta: Jon rose to fame as one half of the multiple-having couple Jon and Kate from TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8. The Gosselins’ marriage didn’t end so well, with the two still engaged in legal and verbal battles. According to VH1’s bio, Jon is very happy with girlfriend of two years Liz Jannetta, but the two each struggle with baggage from their previous marriages. Dr. Jenn hopes to help these two work through their trust issues as well as their financial and emotional insecurities.
Whitney Mixter and Sada Bettencourt: Famous for their “passionate and oftentimes stormy” relationship on Showtime reality series The Real L Word, it sounds like things haven’t been exactly smooth sailing for these two since their exit from the reality TV spotlight. Though Whitney and Sada were married in the show’s final season, they are struggling with feelings of “jealousy, anger, and resentment.”
Ghostface Killah and Kelsey Nykole: The Wu-Tang Klan rapper and his girlfriend have been together a while. While Ghostface (we’re hoping Kelsey calls him by his birth name, Dennis) has lived the life of a rapper for a while, he’s in his 40s now and hoping to settle down. He’s just not so sure Kelsey’s the girl. If the clips we’ve seen are any indication, they both could certainly use some healthier dispute management techniques!
