This is the true story, about a former reality star who couldn’t stop getting his nose dirty, long after his 15 minutes of fame were over. David “Puck” Rainey was the infamous rabble-rouser who got evicted from the house on MTV’s Real World: San Francisco way back in 1994. And almost 20 years later, he’s still causing issues — though this time it seems he got off a little easy.

According to Puck’s former girlfriend, last summer he scratched and bruised her, then slammed the phone down when she tried to call the police. He pled guilty to domestic violence and dissuading a witness, and while he was facing a year of jail time for his actions, he’s managed to get out of it. In lieu of incarceration, Puck was just sentenced to three years probation and ordered to attend a one-year domestic violence program.

Hopefully, this will finally be the help that he needs. This isn’t the outspoken Real World star’s first run in with the law, either. In 2012, he was sent to prison for stalking, and in 2011 he was arrested for felony domestic violence. There certainly seems to be a pattern of behavior here.

We’re not sure what caused the judge to choose probation over prison, but maybe he thinks that the domestic violence program will do him more good. He has been to jail already, and clearly that did nothing.
