Since the first season of Princess Long Island ended this summer, we’ve been sitting shiva while waiting for Bravo to confirm a second. So far, there’s still no official word. Absence, however, has only made the heart grow fonder — so it’s no surprise we jumped at the chance to speak with cast member Chanel Omari. You know, the one who, at 28-years old, stressed she’ll never get married. Oy vey!
Speaking exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment, Chanel caught us up on what she and her crazy pals have been doing since we’ve last seen them.
Wetpaint Entertainment: What's the status of season 2 and when will you hear if you've been renewed?
Chanel: We aren't sure yet, but hopefully by February or March.
If you get renewed, is the entire cast down for a second season? Or are some having second thoughts about coming back?
I’m pretty sure everyone in the cast will be down for a second season. There are a lot of interesting twists and turns within our group and friendships that would make for a intriguing next season, so hopefully you will all stay tuned in to see what happens.
What has your relationship been like with your cast mates since the show went off the air? Who are you close to and you have you drifted from?
We all ended on a high note on the last episode when I brought the girls together for the Jewish New Year. I've tried my best to accommodate all of them and keep the peace between us since then — but we have all definitely been through our ups and downs within our friendships. Friendships aren't perfect.
Career-wise, what have you been doing since filming wrapped?
I’m currently hard at work producing my own web series for my website chanelomari.com, which will be an online magazine and lifestyle blog. I am also a blog contributor for divagalsdaily.com and I am working on my headpiece accessory line that will feature some of the unique styles I wore on the show. I love working and keeping busy until I have my own talk show one day.
Are you dating anyone? Can you tell us who and for how long?
I’ve been going on a lot of dates lately but I am not seeing anyone special just yet…when I do, you will be the first to hear!
If given a second season, what do you want to show the world about yourself that maybe you didn't get to the first time around?
If given a second season, I would love to show that I’m not a spoiled princess sitting around desperate to get married and never work. I do want to find 'The One' and get married, have children and be successful with my career — but I’m definitely not rushing to get married just because I’m now 29 and single.
I’m embracing 29 and feeling sexier than ever. I want it all and believe every woman can have it all. I’ve been working since I was 14 years old, but I also want people to also see more of my fun, silly side and not see me crying all the time as I did the first season. I’m still growing as a person and can't wait to share my growth with the world.
