The Originals Recap: Season 1, Episode 17 — “Moon Over Bourbon Street”

Now that the witches have subsided, the vampires can finally relax, right? Wrong. Elijah isn’t too happy with Klaus on Season 1, Episode 17 (“Moon Over Bourbon Street”). Not only did he force their baby sister Rebekah to leave town, their empire is crumbling around them. Now Elijah is taking matters into his own hands, but doesn’t he know not to take Klaus’ toys away from him by now?

However, Elijah receives an intriguing offer of support from Francesca (guest star Peta Sergeant), a beautiful woman from a powerful New Orleans family — and it sounds like she has the influence to help bring the factions together. Cue a sure-to-be eventful Mikaelson party!

In an attempt to bring the supernaturals of the city together (sorry Marcel, you’re still exiled), the Mikaelsons throw an extravagant party, where Klaus offers werewolf Jackson a tempting deal, Elijah and Hayely share a dance, and a “violent fight comes to a surprising end.” Meanwhile, Marcel is trying to forge a new path to power with Davina, and it looks like he’ll have Cami on his side.

We’ll have our recap up in just a bit, but until then, tell us what you thought of the episode in the comments below!
