This week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy — Season 10, Episode 11: “Man on the Moon” — is our last before the big mid-season finale that will wrap up Grey’s for the rest of 2013.
So what do you need to know before going into next week’s totally “bonkers” episode?
April’s sisters are a nightmare. They’re gorgeous, they look just like her (read: nothing like they were raised on a farm) and they’re crazy chipper, just like April. However, they’re still using their old nickname for her: Ducky. As in the Ugly Duckling. As in April grew up with braces and acne as she lived in the shadow of her beautiful sisters. But not anymore! At her bridal shower, April officially fires them as bridesmaids and enlists Arizona, Meredith, and Cristina for the now-empty positions. And they’re about as psyched as they ever are when they’re called to participate in a wedding.
And speaking of the wedding, Matthew and Jackson finally bury the hatchet. Well, sort of. After they’re forced to work together to save someone’s life, Jackson’s got a laundry list of complaints on how Matthew helped the patient, and Matthew’s not taking it lying down this time. After they duke it out in the hospital, they end things on good terms and Matthew encourages Jackson to come to the wedding. So we’ll see you there next week, Jackson?
Alex’s dad is back and he’s suffering from withdrawals as he tries to ditch the drugs and finally get clean. And now that he knows that Alex is his son, the memories of Alex’s childhood all come flooding back to him. Jo does her best to help him for Alex’s sake, but when during one of his withdrawal-fueled hallucinations he slams her against the wall, Alex has to step in and save her. A testament to Jo’s love for Alex? She still sleeps by Alex’s dad’s bedside that night, making sure he’s okay.
Richard’s released from the hospital, but he’s back to check up on things and attend April’s shower after he gets bored of watching too many shows about unruly housewives. Hey, Richard, when we’re stuck in bed, we usually just marathon Grey’s Anatomy… oh, wait.
Bailey’s ignoring the need for medication to control her OCD. And after she’s unable to prove to her therapist that she doesn’t need them, Richard finally gets through to her and she takes her first pill. This is the first step to a happier Bailey!
Arizona and Callie are finally on speaking terms… even though when they speak they’re more likely to fight than anything else. After they figure out that maybe they should talk less and… do other things more, they finally make some progress. Hooray! Oh, and speaking of sex, Cristina and Shane are still a thing that’s happening, and so far, we have mixed feelings about it.
