True Blood Recap of Season 6, Episode 3: “You’re No Good”

Last week on True Blood, things were really on fire — quite literally! Bill (Stephen Moyer) discovered one of his newest powers is seeing into the future, but his latest vision revealed a slew of Bon Temps’s most beloved vamps forcibly meeting the true death. Will he be able to turn the tides, or will we be seeing roasted vampires in our immediate future?

True Blood Season 6, Episode 3 sees Bill and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) working independently toward fighting Governor Burrell’s tyrannical regime. So throw on your best Che Guevara shirt, and let’s jump right into our True Blood recap!

The Times Are a-Changin’

Eric makes himself at home in Willa Burrell’s room after seductively glamouring her into inviting him in. He’s intent on using her to get to Governor Burrell, and he goes about it in the most Eric way.

“Are you daddy’s little girl?” he asks her. Willa nods and Eric continues, telling her he’s not above killing her to piss off her father. Sensing Willa’s building terror, Eric asks, “Are you a god fearing girl, Willa? Then know you're about to die for your father’s sins and not your own, but you are going to die. And you will not scream.”

As Eric prepares to sink his teeth in, Willa blurts out her death will do nothing to stop Governor Burrell’s plan. “I can tell you about the experiments,” she says. Before Eric can get more out of her, the police bust in to break up their little rendezvous and Eric whisks Willa away.

Back at Bill’s mansion, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) asks Bill about his ominous premonition. He says he must stop it from happening, insisting it’s Liliths’ command.

“You were there Jess, burning in the sun,” Bill cries. “You were one of them. So help me I will not lose you Jess.”

Meanwhile, Sookie practices channeling her faerie aura in her bedroom. Downstairs, Niall is sleeping, and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) decides it’s time to hit the hay as well. We suddnely cut to “Warlow cam,” as some creature we can only assume is the ancient vamp is lurking outside of the Stackhouse residence, fixating on Sookie’s bedroom window. Niall senses a presence and goes outside to investigate. He tells Jason to keep Sookie inside, but Jason is struck by a sudden headache and falls over. Sookie rushes out to help him, and Niall teleports them all inside the house.

After their narrow escape, Niall asks Sookie why she’s not afraid of Warlow. “I can barely remember the last time I wasn’t in danger,” she replies indignantly. “It’s a fact of life for me.” Niall says he’s losing patience and plans to hunt down Warlow more aggressively. Sookie asks why Warlow wants her so much when there are other faeries out there for the taking, and Niall says it’s because her faerie blood is royal. We wonder if that’s why she seemed extra tasty to Bill and Eric as well.

Speaking of Eric, the viking vamp brings Willa to Fangtasia, much to Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) displeasure. Pam says it’s a dumb idea to kidnap the Governor’s daughter and demands they kill her, but Tara reasons they should just glamour her to forget anything happened. Eric is firm in keeping his hostage alive as a bargaining chip and tells Pam and Tara to gather their belongings so they can leave Fangtasia for good. He then gets down to interrogating Willa, who willingly gives up information about her father’s deeds. Eric asks her about the experiments, and she reveals a bunch of government money was invested in a prison and research facility dedicated to vampires.

“They’re studying y’all,” says Willa. “You’re biology, physiology, psychology, s**t like that. It’s sick.” Eric wants to know where this camp is, but she doesn’t know.

Meanwhile, a hooded and handcuffed figure is dragged down a hallway of what looks to be the very vampire camp Eric is seeking. Lo and behold, it’s Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian)!

He’s greeted by a creepy doctor who pulls on a pair of black gloves and says, “I was once a big fan of your work.” Things aren’t looking up for the good reverend.

Back at Fangtasia, Eric decides to take Willa with them. Pam and Tara beg him to reconsider, but Eric says Willa is all they have to hold over the governor.

“None of this is our anymore,” he tells them. “The world is changing, Pam, and we have to change with it.”

No One Is Immortal

After his tussle with Alcide (Joe Manganiello), Sam (Sam Trammell) finally wakes up to find Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and her boyfriend, Jesse, in his trailer. Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) tells them to forget what happened, and Sam agrees it’s best for them to leave. On their way out, Nicole apologizes about Luna, saying she didn’t know the shifter had died before approaching Sam. Nicole wants to help get Emma back, but Sam says he doesn’t need help.

As Sam fumbles for his next move, Lafayette declares himself the official wingman for Operation Emma. “What’s the muthaf**kin’ plan, boyfriend?” he snaps at Sam. We like where this is going already.

Later, Eric knocks on Ginger’s door, and the gullible barmaid eagerly invites him in hoping for a midnight delight of her own. “I hope you don’t mind, I brought some friends,” Eric says as Pam, Tara and Will follow him in. A crestfallen Ginger grudgingly lets Eric and Willa take her coffin, while Pam and Tara sleep in her bed.

Bill stands on his porch and decides he’s going to meet the sun, which causes Jess serious concern. But Bill believes his conversation with Lilith while standing in broad daylight was hinting at another new power on the horizon. Jessica tells Bill he’s still a vampire, despite everything that’s happened recently, but Bill stands his ground

“Sookie drove a wooden stake through my chest and I pulled it out like a splinter from my finger,” he says. “I walked through fire. I’m having visions, prescient visions. I am Lilith’s prophet. I feel immortal.”

She reminds him something did kill Lilith and she wasn’t immortal, but Bill walks out onto the front lawn anyway. As Jess watches from the window, Bill bursts into flames and runs inside. Jessica puts out the flames and holds him close. “I don't understand,” Bill screams.

Niall continues his hunt for Warlow and stumbles upon the faerie club, which is now in ruins. After doing a bit of supernatural CSI, he determines Warlow killed everyone inside. One faerie is left, barely alive, and he tells Niall an extremely powerful vampire came and attacked them all.

Sookie checks in on Jason after his fainting spell last night and wants him to go to the hospital. He says he’s fine, but admits he’s been having hallucinations of their parents. He tells Sookie he wishes it wasn’t them who were saying crazy racist things to him, and Sookie says it’s easy to remember dead loved ones too fondly sometimes. Sookie tells Jason their mom was afraid of her up until she died.

At the Bon Temps police station, Andy (Chris Bauer) takes stock of some new vampire weapons just as Holly walks in to complain about the vampires bothering her at night. He says he’ll help teach her a bit of self defense. Holly also notices Andy’s quadruplets, who are now in their tweens. My how they’ve grown!

Rikki (Kelly Overton) runs over to Martha's house to warn her the cops are coming. The officers start asking about Emma and insist on talking to Martha, saying Governor Burrell’s new vampire laws allow them to do searches without a warrant. Rikki bullies Emma into shifting, and the cops bust in only to find Rikki and a puppy. When they leave, Rikki yells at Martha bringing Emma into the pack, fearing werewolves will suffer the same fate as the vampires once the government catches on. Alcide tells them to stop fighting and explains it’s his fault Emma’s an orphan. “She’s a wolf, she stays,” he growls, and Martha tells Rikki to bow to him.

Andy takes Holly to “Fort Bellefleur” to teach her how to shoot. He tries to put his arms around her to steady gun, and Holly resists, saying she’s still mad at him. He tells Holly he still has feelings for her, but she’s hesitant for now.

The Bitch Is Back

Willa wakes up in the coffin and tries talking to Eric, who starts getting the bleeds because it’s daytime. She confesses to him her mother had an affair with a vampire, which is why Governor Burrell hates vamps so much. Eric asks whether she also likes vampires, and Willa says. “I do like vampires, very much.” She touches his bleeding ear and tries to put it to her mouth, but Eric stops her and slowly licks the blood off of her finger. “Now put your tape back on,” he tells Willa, who’s clearly turned on by the exchange.

Ben runs into Niall, and after establishing both are faeries, says he’s looking for the faerie club. Niall says a powerful vampire destroyed it. When Ben hears it’s Warlow’s doing, he realizes Niall is king of the faeries and bows. Niall tells him to get up and asks Ben to help hunt down Warlow, which he’s only too happy to do, especially if it means protecting Sookie.

Bill wakes up and tells Jess he is running errands. She wants to help, so Bill tells her seduce and kidnap Professor Hiro Takahashi, who created Tru Blood. She walks into one of the professor’s classes wearing her best naughty school girl outfit and succeeds in getting Professor Takahashi alone.

Sarah Newlin makes her grand return to True Blood, visiting her former husband in vamp camp. Steve thinks she’s there to save him and she laughs, berating him for taking all their friends and money. Steve hits back at her, saying she must be living comfortably after writing a tell-all book about their marriage. “This place is everything that we used to dream about,” Sarah gushes. “God’s master plan to save the human race by eradicating the vampire race. And the best part is, you Steve, are a vampire.” Sarah then leaves him to the doctor, who wants to know everything about Eric Northman.

Later, Bill knocks on Sookie’s door and asks for her help. She refuses to invite him in, but he simply waltzes into the house without an invitation. Jason threatens to shoot him, and Bill uses his mind to push him up against the wall. He takes Sookie into the kitchen and asks for her blood. Sookie says no and throws plates at him, the second of which he stops in midair.

When he fails to convince Sookie to help, Bill declares, “You’re dead to me now, Sookie Stackhouse.”

“I’m good with that,” she retorts.

The officer is still able to find out where they are, and the Governor stalls by saying he will do anything to get Willa back. Eric knows they are coming and pretends he’s off to untie Willa. Instead they flee, and he glamours Ginger into keeping the Governor distracted and saying she never saw them.

He apologizes for listening in, and Sookie wonders why she can feel him listening when she’s never had that feeling with other faeries. Jason suddenly passes out again, this time out cold, and Nora vanishes while everyone else is distracted.
