This was a scary day for Sandra Bullock, as the actress was in her home when a burglar broke in.
Police received a call about a intruder in the Speed star's home at 6:30 a.m. on June 8. The crime was referred to as a "hot prowl" because the 49-year-old Sandra was inside the home at the time. Luckily, she was unharmed.
Police arrived in time and caught the suspect, who has been identified as 39-year-old Joshua Corbett. He has been booked on a residential burglary charge, with bail set at $50,000. It was not immediately clear whether the intruder was a stalker, and the investigation is ongoing.
Often, celebs' homes are broken into when the celebrity is out of town, as was the case with Miley Cyrus last weekend. However, Sandra was not on vacation and actually received the Decade of Hotness award at the 2014 Guys' Choice Awards ceremony in L.A. last night. The ceremony airs on June 11 on Spike TV.
We're relieved that Sandra — who has a son, Louis — was not hurt during the break-in. This is the lone blemish on what has been an otherwise stellar year for her, as she received an Oscar nomination for her role in Gravity. This was her second nomination, following her Best Actress win in 2010 for The Blind Side.
