Parks and Recreation Renewed For Season 7, Community Season 6 a “Possibility”

Those of you hoping to “Vote Knope” this fall, we’ve got some amazing news! At the Television Critics Association winter press tour Sunday, it was NBC’s turn to dish about the happenings at the Peacock network. Luckily, NBC president Robert Greenblatt was feeling very generous and decided to “go out on a limb” when it came to two of the network’s beloved comedies.

Parks and Recreation is going to have a seventh season,” Robert gushed, ensuring another fans they haven’t seen the last of Pawnee yet, though stopping short of a formal announcement. As TVLine reports, the NBC exec declared himself “bullish” in his praise of Parks and its lead-in, Community.

We have a sneaking suspicion that Amy Poehler’s surprising win at the 2014 Golden Globes had something to do with the network embracing the political sitcom, and we ain’t mad at him.

When it comes to Community, however, Robert would only say that Season 6 is a “strong possibility.” We will still look on the brighter side, since the Joel McHale-led sitcom only returned just recently, on January 2. The good news it that the show has its showrunner, Dan Harmon, back and is, as Christina Aguilera would say, getting back to the basics.

The NBC exec didn’t have great things to say about Sean Saves the World or The Michael J. Fox Show, saying he was “not happy” with their numbers. But Parenthood fans can breathe a little easier, because Robert said it was “a show [the network] love[s],” and that he’s “hopeful” for a renewal. Bravermans forever!
