Update (March 25, 2014):
That Taylor Swift stalker we reported on earlier this month? A judge just ruled he’s got to stay 100 yards away from the singer for the next three years and also can’t go anywhere near her parents. Stay safe out there, Tay!
Original story (March 3, 2014):
Joke as we will about Taylor Swift’s love life, sometimes romantic obsession gets a little cray cray. The latest example? A man who supposedly thinks he’s married to the 24-year-old singer and says he’ll murder anyone who gets between him and his country singer love. Yikes!
TMZ reports Taylor filed legal documents concerning one Timothy Sweet. In the docs, Taylor says Timothy has been making his presence known in her life since January 2011 with a flood of emails, letters, and social media messages.
We got a small sampling courtesy of TMZ and suggest you only keep reading if you’re not easily creeped out.
“If anyone in Taylor Swift’s family gets killed, it is not my fault,” one message reads.
“My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills,” goes another. “I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life.”
Politics even gets involved: “Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate.”
Needless to say, Taylor says she’s worried for her safety and that of her loved ones. A judge agreed and has ordered Timothy stay 100 yards away from Taylor and three members of her fam. Not sending any more messages would also probably be appreciated.
