Lots of changes are set to happen in Season 3 of Revenge, and many of them could center around Emily Thorne’s Season 2 love interest, Aiden Mathis. The British babe was first introduced to the cast in the show’s sophomore season and received a mixture of reviews.

Many fans felt that Aiden was Emily’s one true love and the only one who could really understand her thirst for vengeance considering he had a revengenda of his own. But others thought he was just another distraction in Emily’s mission, who limited her romantic conquests with her childhood sweetheart, Jack Porter, and her faux-engagement to Daniel Grayson.

When we left Aiden in Season 2, his life was in the balance. We last saw Aiden fight Daniel inside Emily’s home. The Revenger told the preppy that he was giving him a pass to live if he stayed away from Emily, but we all know Danny can’t keep away from his lady love for long. Aiden threw Daniel, who crashed into the desk holding Emily’s gun. Next we see Daniel show up to Conrad’s speech with blood on his sleeve. Could this mean that he took out Aiden for good?

It certainly would help clear up Emily’s romantic confusion. But mid-season actor Barry Sloane was signed to be a series regular, and it seems strange that the show would kill him off in such an anti-climactic way after only one season.

After Aiden killed Takeda, found out his sister Colleen was dead, and lost Emily’s trust, there’s not much room for his character to grow. Personally, we wouldn’t mind Revenge killing Aiden off, but it would have to be done properly with the full reaction of Emily Thorne. Perhaps she will find his body and spend the majority of Season 3 attempting to locate his killer, only to learn that she’s married to him!
