We were super bummed that Ashley Madekwe (Ashley Davenport) was sent packing in the Revenge Season 3 premiere after her portrayer’s contract wasn’t renewed, but it looks like Ash will be just fine after all because she has already snagged another acting gig!

According to Deadline, the British actress is slated to join the cast of Salem, WGN America’s first scripted show. As the show’s title suggests, it’s all about witches. Deadline describes it as follows: “Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, it explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials.”

Much like on Revenge, Ashley will once again playing another character’s right-hand woman. Though many people may liken Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) to a witch, Ashley’s new on-screen boss is the real deal.

Ms. Madekwe is set to play a character named Tituba, who is described as “Salem’s most powerful witch Mary Sibley’s exotic and mysterious right hand and helper who hasn’t aged in the ten years she has been apart from her master.”

Though the time period means Ash won’t get to flaunt her fierce fashions this time around, we can totally see her playing a character that hasn’t aged in a decade — just look at her youthful, glowing skin!

Revenge showrunner Sunil Nayar — who noted that Ashley was “beyond gracious” about her exit from the show — had previously made it clear that the door would be open for Ashley’s future return to the Hamptons, but this latest news makes that less likely.

Do you think Ashley’s days in the Hamptons are really over now? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
