Revenge Recasts Shocking Central Character for Season 2! (PHOTOS)
A show about the master of deception is attempting to pull the wool over fans’ eyes come Season 2.
Revenge has recast the character of Satoshi Takeda (Emily Thorne’s mentor) due to the unavailability of actor Hiroyuki Sanada.
The mysterious martial arts master will now be played by actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who has appeared in Heroes and Hawaii Five-0.
Hiroyuki had to leave the role after filming for the upcoming X-Men movie, The Wolverine, complicated Revenge’s filming schedule.
The new Takeda is scheduled to be in the Sept. 30 premiere of Revenge’s second season.
“We didn’t want to try to trick our audience,” producer Melissa Loy told TV Guide. “We wanted to bring somebody in who brought something fresh, different, and new to the character.”
We’re not sure if the actors’ 10-year age difference will affect the storyline, but if anyone can handle the transition smoothly, it’s show creator Mike Kelley his talented team of writers.
