With the scheming, deaths, and falling pregnant women, it’s easy to forget Declan Porter on Revenge. And though the youngest Porter has a good heart, his wild side has reared its ugly head this season.

Declan’s mansion-robbing ways have landed the Porters in a world of hurt, and now the boys are in deep with the Ryan brothers. When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with actor Connor Paolo at The Trevor Project in Hollywood last night, he dished about his character’s motives and more.

Wetpaint Entertainment: You’ve said before that Declan didn’t turn to robbing houses just for the money. What drives his reckless actions?

Connor Paolo: He’s angry, you know, and he’s looking for a way to get it out. And then in the same way, I think he’s looking to push whatever boundaries he can. I think it’s less about the specificity about what he’s doing and more just that he’s doing something. It’s like punching a fing wall — you’ve got to do it sometimes.

How will Jack’s wedding and new baby affect the Porter brothers’ relationship?

I think in many ways, it’s a whole new thing with the family and they’re struggling with money anyway. I have no idea where they’ll go with these things though, so I can pontificate all I want, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

We know you’re making an appearance on the Gossip Girl finale. Which show has meant more to you as an actor?

I can’t answer that question!

Did you get something different out of both shows?

Sure. But I can’t qualify it for you — I’d piss everybody off. There’s a lot of angry people out there.

Do you think Declan’s actions are justified? Weigh in below!
