Two weeks ago, Jack Porter shocked (and slightly upset) the Revenge world when he popped the question to his faux-childhood sweetheart, Amanda Clarke. This bold move surprised us mostly because only two episodes before, he’d called off their relationship due to Fauxmanda’s lies.

So when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with his portrayer, Nick Wechsler, at the TV Guide Magazine “Hot List” Party, we had to ask him what changed for his character in those two episodes.

“Well, he resigned himself to his fate, basically,” Nick admitted. “He learned that the child was indeed his. He was realizing he couldn’t be an absent father.”

But being a father didn’t require Jack and Amanda to be together. So why stick with the baby mama?

“This is the girl that I named my boat after, and she’s back and trying now,” Nick explained. “Then she almost died. He’s trying to fall in love with her. She almost died and he realized he was losing that connection to his youth in this girl he has had this thing for, for most of his life. So he’s trying to hold onto that.”

Trying to fall in love with her?! For once, we feel bad for Fauxmanda. Her fiancé isn’t in love with her, she’s frequently falling off balconies, and Ems didn’t let her get her murder last Sunday.

Do you think Jack will eventually learn to love Amanda, or is this relationship doomed? Tell us below!
