Last night on Revenge, Emily Thorne one-upped Victoria Grayson when she spilled her biggest secret to the Hamptons’ most notorious blogger, Mason Treadwell.
Previously, Vicki held the crown for having the biggest crab balls when she called up Conrad from beyond the grave, but when Emily revealed her true identity to the gossip-happy writer, we almost spit up our lobster tails.
Ems unleashed the truth bomb after catching Fauxmanda Clarke in the murdering mood. The ex-stripper was ready to crowbar Mason’s head in before Emily stopped her, and in order to keep Mason from continuing the slightly offensive “jailbird lovers” tale — come on, Fauxmanda’s a mere peasant — Emily told him the truth.
At first, things were working fine for the bowtie-wearing babe — he was revenging it up, complete with his own Emily Thorne-trademarked earpiece — but he dropped the ball and went off-script when talking to Kara Wallace Clarke, causing the med-less mental patient to go cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Whoops!
But not to worry — Aiden brought his chloroform (a good Revenger never leaves home without it), and stopped Kara in her tracks. But for Mason it was just the beginning. Ems put the FBI on his trail and rigged his pad with incriminating evidence from the Gordon Murphy murder case.
So Mason’s bowtie is about to turn orange, but Emily’s offered him a deal. In exchange for his indefinite jail sentence, Mason gets the rights to Emily’s tell-all tale — that is, when she chooses to confess.
It seems he’s accepted the deal, but did Emily make a mistake in telling Mason? He could, after all, leak his intel to the Graysons, and Victoria is more than willing to believe any negative news surrounding her next-door neighbor.
Or he could turn on Ems and go straight to the press. Years of lies and tabloid gossip have probably left him with plenty of contacts.
