Which Revenge Character Did Stephen King Call the “Creepiest Best Friend in the World"?
Stephen King isn't exactly known for being the cuddliest author in the USofA (that would be Judy Blume). In fact, his books are completely creepy with a side of gruesome. Need we remind you of the twin girls from The Shining? We still can't stay in carpeted hotels thanks to that book.
Naturally, Stephen is a huge fan of ABC's Revenge (duh, who isn't), and his favorite character? The Talented Mr. Tyler Barrol, professional bromancer and lover of dudes named Daniel Grayson. Tragically, Tyler was killed during Revenge's first season –– despite getting a major shout-out from The Master of Suspense himself!
"Guilty-pleasure TV, thy name is Revenge," Stephen wrote in Entertainment Weekly back in 2011. "There hasn't been a nighttime soap opera this cool since the early days of Dallas. The filthy rich at play in the Hamptons get a big dose of payback from Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp). Watching Emily — a steel fist inside a velvet designer evening dress — face off against ice queen Victoria Grayson (the marvelous Madeleine Stowe) is the most fun you can have with a bowl of popcorn in your lap. Special kudos to Ashton Holmes (Tyler Barrol) as the Creepiest Best Friend in the World."
That's right, even creepier than Leighton Meester in The Roommate. One might even call Tyler double-infinity creepy. Do you agree with Stephen King? Dish in the comments!
