Pretty Little Liars Review: Season 4, Episode 7 — What Did You Think of “Crash and Burn, Girl”?

The s--t really hit the fan — or in this case, Emily's house — on Season 4, Episode 7 ("Crash and Burn, Girl!"), proving once again that "A" is not messing around this season on Pretty Little Liars

With Ashley Marin under arrest for Wilden's murder, the Liars are trying to be there for Hanna, and poor Hanna is looking for a shred of hope in this whole situation (and that doesn't include mozzarella sticks, Spencer!). Her mom can't really be framed for a crime she didn't commit, can she? Unfortunately for Hanna, it looks like she can — and she will — unless they can prove Ashley wasn't the one who shot Wilden. So the Liars take advantage of an opportunity to snoop through Wilden's apartment, but their sleuthing comes at a price for Emily's mom.

So what went down in Rosewood this week? Read on for Wetpaint Entertainment's review of the episode, and then rate it yourself!

When Emily comes across the key to Wilden's apartment (which just so happens to be sitting on her mom's desk at the police station), she does what any logical teen would do — she steals it. We understand that Emily wanted to help Hanna, but did she ever think that stealing this key could mean trouble for her mom? Probably not.

So Spencer, Aria, and Emily are off to Wilden's apartment, where they discover that the detective was a simple man who didn't get attached to much of anything and had an affinity for porn ("Lord of the G-Strings," anyone?). Just when it looked like their sleuthing was in vain, the Liars find a box full of rotting meat. Who sent it to him? Who else!

"Can't wait to see you at our little barbecue. Kisses, A." So was Wilden supposed to start the lodge fire? Speaking of the lodge fire, our new favorite bromance, Caleb and Toby, are on a hunt to find out who started the fire — and why. (These two are more efficient in their search for "A" than the Liars have been in four seasons.)

Their search leads them to Nigel Wright, the suspicious fellow who accompanied Jenna to Wilden's funeral. He also happens to work the front desk at the local airport. When Caleb and Toby corner him for info, he says he re-routed the flight plans the night of the lodge fire — and CeCe Drake was the one who told him to do it. Does that mean CeCe is Red Coat? Or was that just a cover story? By the end of the episode, Nigel is clearly making tea for Jenna.

As for CeCe, could she have been the blonde who was visiting Toby's mom in Radley? After all, she did have a Radley pass (the one that Wren authorized!).

And Ezria fans, don't think we forgot about you! Just when it looked like Ezra and Aria were dunzo for good, he goes and saves Mike from expulsion. It looks like Connor was so convinced Mike was the culprit who smashed his car, he tried to get Mike expelled from Rosewood High! That is, until Ezra stepped in to save the day. Cue an adorable Ezria moment outside of Ezra's door.

In the end, Ashley Marin is going to trial for Wilden's murder, Emily's mom gets suspended from work after she loses Wilden's apartment key (ahem, Emily stole it!), and as if Pam Fields didn't have enough to worry about, "A" smashes a car into home.

What did you think of "Crash and Burn, Girl!," PLL fans? Was it one of your favorites this season? Sound off in the comments!
