Lydia McLaughlin Says Worst RHOC Drama Happened Off Camera

Halfway through her first season on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Lydia McLaughlin is reflecting back on a crazy year.

"It is ore difficult than I thought it would be," she told People over the weekend. "I was just like, 'Yeah, what do I have to lose?! What would people not like about me?! I'm just going to be myself, and I'm going to be positive, and have a different type of voice.!"

It was really sweet of her to think about it like this, but with the innocence of this show having flown out the window a long time ago, she probably should have thought twice about this somewhat far-fetched idea.

"When everyone is screaming and yelling, you really can't win in this type of show," the newcomer said. "It's intense, and those women are intense and they have an opinion, and that's why they've been on the air for so long."

And if you ever thought that the craziness was due to editing, Lydia is shooting that down.

"I think that the ladies are genuinely who they are on the show, and that there isn't a lot of acting," she says. "In some degree some of the worst drama actually happened when the cameras went down."
