Half of the Real Housewives formula lies in the fact that not all of these powerful, outspoken, and driven gals are going to get along. What would be the fun in that, after all? But some of the ladies do get along quite well, and from time to time they even become so close that you can barely have one without the other.
Real Housewives of New York is one of the shows in the franchise that has birthed its share of memorable besties through the years. The most obvious would probably be Ramonja — Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer — that blonde tornado that brings the party wherever it goes. But we’ve seen other gal-mances blossom through the years — even if they didn’t last.
During the April 1 episode of RHoNY,Wetpaint Entertainment partnered with Viggle LIVE! to ask users which pair of BFFs from the Upper East Side was their favorite, and Ramonja predictably trumped the competition with 62 percent of the vote. But the real surprise might be that 25 percent of users still hold a candle for the former friendship between Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin (sigh, the good ol’ days). And Season 5 newbies Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson’s more recent bestie-ship is gaining some traction with 14 percent.

Look, you’re just not going to beat the terrible twosome of Ramona and Sonja. Those fun-loving, fearless ladies never fail to entertain — whether they’re rampaging through St. Barth’s or ordering Sonja’s interns around her townhouse. But this poll also made us a little nostalgic for the wise-cracking duo of Bethenny and Jill. Before their friendship totally fell apart, they were like the Lucy and Ethel of the Big Apple, and we miss their quick-witted banter.
