Ramona Singer’s life has drastically changed in the past few weeks.

The Real Housewives of New York star’s brother, Bohdan “Nicky” Mazur, sadly passed away in July after being involved in a car accident.

The 60-year-old’s brother died while he was in Uruguay, according to Radar Online.

“He had a heart attack and ran into a tree while driving to the hospital,” a family friend said. “He was an incredibly bright guy. He was very smart and lived on the edge.”

The Bravolebrity is unfortunately estranged from her brother, so she didn't attend his memorial service.

“It was a small affair to honor him. This was the only service in New York that I knew about,” the source revealed.

“Some people said things they remembered. There was also a priest who came and spoke for awhile and did a service.”

In fact, the situation between the mother of one and her family is still a work in progress.

“It’s a rocky situation. I never expected her to be there. I didn’t invite her. It wasn’t for me to do,” the family friend continued.

“She would also be hard to get in touch with. I don’t know if she contacted the sisters.”

The reality star opened up about her brother’s passing last week when she attended Jill Zarin’s Luxury Luncheon.

“My brother just died. No one knows this. He died about three weeks ago, my younger brother, and we weren’t close anymore,” she told Us Weekly.

Despite the fact that she wasn’t in contact with her brother at the time of his death, it did help to repair her relationship with her niece.

“Because of this death, I got closer to my niece. I flew her out … for about a week,” she revealed.

“And I spoke to her and said that I was really sorry about her dad’s death, but if it wasn’t for his death, you wouldn’t have bonded with [my daughter] Avery and I."

She continued, "So we have this whole new relationship we never had.”
