‘RHONY’ Season 9 Finale Hints at Luann de Lesseps & Tom D’Agostino’s Divorce (VIDEO)
Still, they powered through and seemed to be mostly happy in their Season 9 moments. That is, until this week’s finale.
Talking about how Luann gave up her countess title for Tom, Dorinda noted, “So there’s love here.”
Smiling, she confirmed that, saying, “I’m happy to be Mrs.”
A nice moment — until you realize what was going on with Tom at the same time.
You see, Ramona Singer had invited her friend, Missy to the party — one of the women Lu’s hubby dated prior to their marriage.
We then saw Tom go over to Missy and ask for her drink order, to which she replied, “I’m good.”
“You sure?” he asked, clearing his throat, prompting her to ask if he was sick.
“No, no, no, I’m fine,” he explained. “I get a little choked up when I see you.”
Apparently, the feeling was mutual, as she “hoped” he would be nervous, as she says the “feeling is mutual.”
He showed some remorse to sharing that — at least on camera — muttering, “I can’t say that.”
However, fast forward a few moments and he’s telling other partygoers the story of the last time he saw Missy.
“Oh… Yes. Oh my god, yes. I totally forgot about that moment,” she started, adding, “Wait, I want to hear your side of the story.”
He agreed to share, but then, referring to the Bravo mic, he said, “I’ve got to unplug this thing. Hold on.”
We never got to see where the rest of that conversation went, but it was surely upsetting for Luann to watch.
And in a sneak peek of next week’s RHONY Reunion, Part 1, we learn a little more about the cracks in the couple’s relationship.
“If you found out that he’d cheated on you, what would you do?” Andy asks.
“I would definitely leave,” the 52-year-old states firmly.
The host then probes her on how she feels about Tom calling his wedding ring his “ball and chain,” and she concedes she doesn’t like the way it “might come off.”
Both Andy and Bethenny don’t love that response, pointing out that image is less important than how it makes her feel.
“You’re allowing him to treat you this way,” Tinsley chimes in.
Still, the former countess tries to rationalize letting her cheating man run free, saying, “I’m not going to tell him, ‘Now, you can’t go to The Regency.’”
“If I saw the episode last night that you saw, I’d be crying in the bathroom,” Bethenny shoots back.
Then, the truth comes out.
“Why do you think I stayed at the hotel last night?” Lu admits.
Real Housewives of New York airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
