Lea Michele’s New Ribcage Tattoo: In Memory of Cory Monteith — Confirmed!
UPDATE: In the newest issue of Elle magazine, Lea reveals information that confirms it: Her new tattoo is in honor of Cory Monteith. In the interview, Lea reveals that she is working with Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler to write a song about Cory. The song, which is still not quite yet finished, is titled "If You Say So," which were the last words that Cory ever spoke to Lea.
So Lea's new tattoo is of the very last thing her boyfriend said to her before he died. We don't know in what context he said them to her. And we probably never will.
Original story: On October 21, Glee’s Lea Michele (Rachel) made her first appearance on a red carpet since her boyfriend Cory Monteith (Finn) tragically passed away three months ago. Lea wore a strapless white cut-out Calvin Klein dress with rainbow detailing, but it was the skin left bare that really caught our attention.
Lea’s dress revealed a new tattoo on her right rib cage. It’s written in black ink, and consists of four simple words: “if you say so.”
The Glee star has not yet spoken about her new ink and we’re not sure when she got it or what the meaning behind it could be. The tattoo isn’t visible in any of her bikini photos from early this July so unless she hid it with tricky camera angles, we’re willing to bet it’s more recent than that.
Lea already has close to 15 tattoos, and we know that many of them hold a very personal meaning. So could this new ink be a tribute to Cory? It’s possible, but we really don’t know for sure. The words “if you say so” very well could have some sort of meaning for Lea and Cory, but we’re still not convinced that’s the case.

Just last month, Star magazine published a report saying that Lea had chosen to remember Cory with a tattoo of his initials inside of a black heart. But don’t count on seeing that tattoo, the report holds that Lea got it “in a private place.”
So if that report is true, then perhaps this other new tattoo isn’t about Cory? Then what could it be about? If you have ideas, head below to the comments and let us know!
